Ok but who exactly is sitting down to watch this with their coffee? Hard pass from me.
Americans draw the line at livestreaming ‘spectacle’ of Fort Hood shooter's execution: ‘It’s an abomination’
Americans are overwhelmingly against the Pentagon's decision to livestream the firing squad execution of convicted Fort Hood mass shooter Nidal Hasan later this year. Those who spoke with Fox News Digital blasted the broadcast as "a shame" and "just weird."
"I think that's absolutely absurd," Anya from Virginia said when asked about the livestream announced by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.
"It's an abomination. It should not happen," Paul from Illinois definitively stated. "And I'd hate to be one of the soldiers that's tasked with the job of pulling the trigger."
Hegseth announced last Thursday the decision to make viewing the execution publicly available. It is set to be the first U.S. military execution in over six decades. PENTAGON CONFIRMS FORT HOOD TERRORIST'S FIRING SQUAD EXECUTION WILL BE LIVESTREAMED: 'DETAILS WILL FOLLOW'
The execution of the mass shooter who killed 13 people and injured 32 in 2009 at Ford Hood, is scheduled for Dec. 3, 2026. Hasan, an Army psychiatrist at the time of the shooting, is now 56-years-old and is wheelchair bound after he was left partially paralyzed after being shot by police officers during his arrest almost 17 years ago. Several Americans interviewed by Fox News Digital supported Hasan's death sentence but drew the line at broadcasting his execution, warning it could turn capital punishment into a public spectacle and could be particularly dangerous in today's political climate. "I'm not necessarily against giving him the death penalty, but I feel like livestreaming for people's entertainment is just weird," Nick from Virginia said. "I agree with the sentence," Bobbie from Massachusetts said. "I don't agree with televising it."
He added, "Especially given the climate of today, I'm not sure it's something we need to see."
"It’s not a practice we should be doing in modern society," Reid from Ohio said. "It's rather medieval in my opinion. I'm certainly pro-death penalty for heinous crimes such as that, but I think that…turns it into something of a spectacle that it really doesn't have any business being."
FORT HOOD SURVIVOR SHOT IN HEAD VOWS TO WATCH TERRORIST FACE HISTORIC FIRING SQUAD
But one Virginia man took a drastically different position, suggesting the government should charge Americans to watch the execution and donate the proceeds to the family of a U.S. service members who died in the line of duty. "I think they're missing an opportunity," Jason from Virginia said. "It should be pay-per-view and all the proceeds should go to Gold Star families."
He continued, "You have someone who was a murderous traitor to our country. And there's not a lot of coverage about that. So I think the public needs and deserves to know the consequences to, well FAFO."
Some raised concerns that the execution leaves children vulnerable to possibly accessing or being exposed to watching Hasan die on livestream. "We have enough violence in our society," William from Virginia said. "I'm pretty sure he's guilty, but it doesn't need to be public. Children could be watching that."
"I just don't think that stuff like that should be put on the mainstream," Ferris from Massachusetts said. "Especially considering that children may have access to seeing it."
Another pointed out Hasan’s health status, arguing the issue could be approached differently if he was "up and around" but citing the shooter’s well-being as a reason he sees the livestreamed execution as that much more wrong. "You're executing somebody who's not mentally stable, who is in this wheelchair situation," one respondent told Fox News Digital. The Trump administration’s announcement of the livestream was largely widely seen as a power play for the United States, demonstrating the consequences of committing such an act of terror on American soil — particularly committing violence toward members of the U.S. military. "I think they're trying to make an example out of him, you know?"

Well that's a cheerful thing to read with my coffee. "probably not" is doing a LOT of heavy lifting in that sentence.
US soldiers can't be protected from all bioweapons, Army admits amid troubling surge in threats
The U.S. Army unveiled its plan to prepare soldiers to fight through biological attacks rather than assume every threat can be stopped.
Still, the Army hopes their implemented plan will help prepare the force to deploy and fight in biologically contested environments by 2035. Rather than treating outbreaks primarily as medical emergencies, the military wants commanders, intelligence officers and logistics personnel to prepare for biological threats while continuing to carry out their combat missions. EMERGING TECH HAS NEW ARMY LEADERS WARNING TROOPS CAN'T ‘AI’ THEIR WAY TO VICTORY ON THE BATTLEFIELD
One of the biggest changes will be bringing biological incidents into major Army combat exercises, forcing commanders to respond to potential outbreaks while continuing their other missions. Rather than relying on specialized biological exercises, the Army wants troops across different military functions to confront biological threats as part of their regular training. Tamasi described one scenario involving a simulated norovirus outbreak at a military port. While medical personnel worked to contain the outbreak, logistics officers would have to determine how to keep critical supplies moving. The example illustrates a broader shift in the Army's approach: Biological threats are no longer being treated solely as medical problems but as potential disruptions to military operations that commanders must be prepared to manage. "We need to make sure that doctrine is aligned," Tamasi said, explaining that the Army is working to establish how biodefense readiness should be assessed across the force. The new plan, signed last week, puts into motion the Army's updated biodefense strategy released in September, which sets a goal of preparing soldiers to deploy and fight in biologically contested environments by 2035. The first two-year implementation cycle will focus on establishing policies, improving coordination across Army organizations and developing personnel with specialized biological expertise. More advanced technologies and acquisition efforts are expected in later phases. The effort comes amid growing concerns about the potential for artificial intelligence and biotechnology to accelerate the development of biological threats. PLAGUE MYSTERY REVIVES CONCERNS OVER NOT-TO-SECRET RUSSIAN BIOWEAPONS PROGRAM
Tamasi described those advances as a dual-use challenge, with technologies that can accelerate medical discoveries also potentially enabling new biological threats to emerge more quickly. Russia remains a particular concern for U.S. national security officials. Washington has long assessed that Moscow maintains an offensive biological weapons program inherited from the Soviet Union, despite Russia's obligations under the Biological Weapons Convention. The United States renounced offensive biological weapons in 1969 and is also a party to the convention, which prohibits the development, production and stockpiling of biological weapons. The newly signed plan bringing biological warfare scenarios into routine combat training as artificial intelligence (AI) and biotechnology raise new concerns about the weapons America's adversaries could develop in the near future. "Can we protect every soldier from every possible bio threat? Probably not," Dr. Alison Tamasi, a senior official at the Army's Nuclear and Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Agency, told reporters on Monday. "We can't put them in a bubble," she added. The shift comes as U.S. officials continue to assess whether Moscow maintains an offensive biological weapons program after a mysterious death in Russia was linked to an anti-plague facility — reviving questions of biological safety and transparency. Oof, that quote aging like milk in the sun. Honestly though, paperwork her dad filled out when she was a kid? Feels messy either way.
Omar raid outrage goes from bad to worse when internet notices her past 6-word claim: 'Couldn't agree more'
Reactions immediately started pouring in after federal authorities raided the Washington, D.C., home of Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., with many on social media pointing to a previous claim from Omar that "no one" is above the law.
"Rather than issue our own statement, we'll defer to Rep. Omar," the Minnesota Republican Party posted on X. "She said it best back in 2023, when the subject of a criminal investigation was someone else."
"We couldn't agree more, Congresswoman. We're sure you still feel the same way now that it's your front door. Minnesotans will be watching closely, and so will we."
"No one is above the law," the Trump War Room account posted on X. "It was an authorized search warrant approved by a federal judge as part of a criminal investigation," conservative influencer LibsofTikTok posted on X. "No one is above the law."
"Ilhan Omar was right," Townhall columnist Dustin Grage posted on X. "Nobody is above the law."
"No one is above the law," Charlie Kirk Show executive producer Andrew Kolvet posted on X. "(And etting [sic] lectured by a Somali about the rule of law is rich. Not as rich as Rep. Omar was before she revised her financial statements, but rich.)"
"So much for ‘no one is above the law,’" conservative commentator Viva Frei posted on X. CAUGHT ON CAMERA: SQUAD DEM SQUIRMS WHEN PRESSED ON VANCE DOJ FRAUD PROBE
Omar released a response to the raid accusing the Trump administration of improperly targeting her. "I’m ok," Omar wrote on X hours after the search commenced. "Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement."
"For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns," she continued. "This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced."
Fox News Digital reached out to Omar’s office for comment. "Today in the Washington, D.C., area, Homeland Security Investgations executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice. This enforcement action is part of an ongoing federal investigation," a DOJ spokesperson told Fox News Digital. The DOJ later added that the investigation was "criminal" in nature.

Omar’s home was raided by agents with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) investigation unit in the early Monday morning hours, Fox News Digital first reported, in a search that stems from a criminal fraud investigation into the Somali-born congresswoman's immigration paperwork, which was filled out by her late father when she was a child. Omar has been under fire for months and faced a myriad of controversies during her time in Congress, most recently, her financial disclosures have come into focus, and questions have been raised by top officials about her path to citizenship as well. Many on social media were quick to point to a previous comment from Omar where she declared that "no one is above the law" after Trump was indicted in a hush money case that conservatives argued was based on flimsy evidence and a political prosecution. Ouch, getting cut loose a month out has to sting. When your own team stops buying you drinks, you know how the night ends.
Trump-linked super PAC pulls funding from 2 House Republicans as GOP fights to keep majority
A top elections group affiliated with President Donald Trump is halting spending planned in two key congressional districts held by sitting House Republicans as Election Day looms less than a month away. MAGA Inc.
Republicans' uphill battle to keep control of the House of Representatives is getting tougher by the day, according to various projections. The latest Fox News Power Rankings show Democrats having an edge in 219 House seats — enough to clinch a majority — while Republicans are projected to keep 198. Nineteen seats are still up in the air. Kean's 7th Congressional District is one of the wealthiest in both New Jersey and the U.S. as a whole, encompassing suburbs and exurbs of New York City to the north. A source close to Kean's campaign told Fox News Digital that "the race is fully funded down the home stretch."
Kean's campaign and House Republicans' campaign arm "have major reservations on broadcast," the source said, adding that his Democratic opponent Rebecca Bennett "has no soft dollar reservations on her behalf."
He and Miller-Meeks represent two of the most purple districts in the country. Kean won his House seat in 2022 after defeating incumbent former Rep. Tom Malinowski, D-N.J., by less than 10,000 votes. His 2024 re-election margin was wider, winning by just over 5%, or 23,000 more votes than his Democrat challenger. Miller-Meeks, meanwhile, is seeking a fourth term against Democrat Christina Bohannan, whom she defeated twice by roughly 20,000 and 800 votes in 2022 and 2024. She first won in 2020 by just six votes — earning her the nickname "six-pack" among fellow House Republicans and GOP leadership. DEMOCRATS SEE NEW CHANCES TO FLIP RED STATES — BUT A $400M GOP SPENDING ADVANTAGE COULD DERAIL THEIR PLANS
Miller-Meeks represents Iowa's 1st Congressional District in the state's southeast, encompassing the cities of Davenport and Iowa City. The New York Times first reported plans by "top Republican super PACs aligned with President Trump and congressional Republican leadership" to pull funding from Kean and Miller-Meeks' districts over concerns about their polling. TRUMP-LINKED MAGA INC POURS $10M INTO KEN PAXTON'S TEXAS SENATE RACE AGAINST JAMES TALARICO
CLF is reportedly pulling the funding as part of a wider reshuffling of its war chest into other districts that Republicans are more confident in. That includes battleground Reps. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pa., and Monica De La Cruz, R-Texas, The Times reported. The source familiar with CLF's planning told Fox News Digital the group was also pulling funding from Michigan's 8th Congressional District and Ohio's 1st Congressional District, where Republicans were hoping to unseat Reps. Kristen McDonald Rivet, D-Mich., and Greg Landsman, D-Ohio. Fox News Digital reached out to Miller-Meeks' campaign but did not immediately hear back.

Wait, that's just... Allowed now? I genuinely did not have this on my friday bingo card.
ATF suspends federal registration and approval rules for certain firearms
Gun owners will no longer be required to federally register or seek advance approval to manufacture or transfer silencers, short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns and "Any Other Weapons" (AOWs), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) announced Friday. The policy directive halts National Firearms Act (NFA) enforcement for items subject to zero-dollar tax rates under the updated guidelines.
"The direction from the President, Congress, and the courts is clear," Cekada said. "ATF is now following suit with our enforcement posture while continuing to ensure we remain focused where we are needed the most: combatting violent crime in American communities."
The regulatory shift stems from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, in which Congress reduced NFA manufacturing and transfer taxes to $0 for silencers, short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, and AOWs. GUN RIGHTS GROUPS CAPITALIZE AFTER JUDGE REVERSES DECADES-OLD RESTRICTIONS: 'MONUMENTAL'
Following that legislation, a federal judge in Texas issued an injunction in August, concluding that because Congress eliminated the underlying tax, the NFA’s mandatory registration and transfer provisions could no longer be justified under Congress’s constitutional taxing power. The ruling initially applied only to the plaintiffs, but the Justice Department subsequently extended its nonenforcement policy nationwide. John Commerford, executive director of the National Rifle Association (NRA), praised the announcement, calling it a historic milestone. MAJOR APPEALS COURT DECLARES NEW JERSEY AR-15 BAN UNCONSTITUTIONAL IN LANDMARK SECOND AMENDMENT RULING
"This is what happens when all three branches of government are willing to follow the Constitution," Commerford said in a statement. "Now the Trump administration has confirmed it will stop treating law-abiding Americans as if they still need special permission from the government to own hearing protection, rifles, or shotguns."
Although the specific NFA requirements and fees have been suspended, all transactions remain subject to the Gun Control Act. Licensed dealers are still required to perform standard background checks and maintain transaction records. Machine guns and destructive devices remain subject to NFA requirements, while federal approval is still required to transport short-barreled rifles and short-barreled shotguns across state lines. The ATF noted it will continue to accept voluntary registrations for owners wishing to document their items, though future legal shifts could potentially reinstate prior regulations without automatic grandfathering protection.

Two choices" always makes me suspicious, there's usually a third one nobody wants to pay for. Curious where you all land on this.
DHS exposes dilemma behind SCOTUS deportation fight: ‘We have two choices’
The Supreme Court temporarily cleared the Trump administration to continue its third-country deportation policy this week, as DHS’ top lawyer mounts a public defense of an immigration authority the administration says previous presidents largely left dormant. DHS has increasingly used so-called "third-country" removals when a removable alien cannot be returned to their home country or that country refuses to take them back — part of what agency General Counsel James Percival describes as a broader Trump strategy of reviving immigration authorities already on the books.
TRUMP’S SPECIAL STRATEGY TO DEPORT ILLEGALS GIVES HIM ANOTHER TOOL FOR ENFORCEMENT
The justices on Tuesday stayed a lower-court judgment restricting DHS’s policy, allowing the administration’s guidance to remain in effect while the Court considers the case on the merits. Arguments are set for December over whether agency procedures comply with federal immigration law, due process and safeguards against torture. The case does not squarely challenge DHS’s underlying authority to conduct third-country removals, but rather the procedures it must follow beforehand. "It’s in the statute expressly that we can do this," he said. "If you go back and read most of the immigration laws, there's a lot of really good tools in there that people just haven't used."
The third-country provision was included in a major immigration reform package passed by Congress and signed by President Bill Clinton in 1996: the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (IIRIRA). "A lot of people in government sort of treat their authority like fine china," Percival remarked. "They're afraid if they ever actually use it, someone will take it away. And if you've ever owned fine china, it's like you can find yourself at the end of your life and you were so afraid you would break it you never used it."
TRUMP’S FIGHT OVER RARELY USED 18TH-CENTURY DEPORTATION LAW LIVES ON IN LATEST COURT CLASH
But Percival’s strategy has not come without blowback from human rights advocates, who pointed most recently to allegations that deportees were beaten by authorities in Equatorial Guinea, a tiny nation on Africa’s Atlantic coast that has been under the control of President Teodoro Obiang since 1979. Obiang's government received $7.5 million from Washington as part of an agreement with Malabo to accept third-country deportations. "I’d rather live in the United States than Equatorial Guinea too, but I’m an American citizen and I haven’t killed anybody," Percival said. The detention issue traces in part to the Supreme Court’s 2001 decision in a case involving a stateless legal resident whom the government ordered deported due to his criminal record. Kestutis Zadvydas was born to Lithuanian parents in a German displaced- persons camp, but neither Lithuania nor Germany would accept him. The court held that six months of post-removal detention is presumptively reasonable, after which continued detention can be challenged if removal is not reasonably foreseeable. Percival is making that case publicly through his "Daily Deportee" series on X, highlighting criminal deportees whose home countries will not accept them. SIGN UP TO GET THE POLITICS NEWSLETTER

Ok but paying guards instead of fixing the actual problem feels like buying an umbrella instead of patching the roof 🙃 what am I missing here?
Socialist mayor’s new answer to rampant retail crime ignites fury: ‘Bandage on a bullet wound’
Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson is rolling out city-funded security for grocery stores facing theft, break-ins and vandalism, fueling criticism that Seattle is spending taxpayer money to protect businesses from crime instead of doing enough to stop it in the first place. The socialist mayor announced the rollout of the security funding as part of a $1.7 million grocery-support initiative included in the city's 2026 budget earlier this week.
The security funding is already drawing criticism from conservatives who argue the city is spending public money to help businesses absorb the consequences of crime rather than focusing enough resources on preventing it. "The best way to support grocery store — and all businesses — is to actually enforce the law with a fully staffed and funded police department. Giving money or resources to fix businesses that are broken by crime is a bandage on a bullet wound," Seattle-based KTTH host and conservative commentator Jason Rantz told Fox News Digital. SMALL-BUSINESS OWNER URGES SEATTLE LEADERS TO ACT NOW ON PUBLIC DRUG USE AND SLOW EMERGENCY RESPONSE
"We don’t need to think outside the box here. Just enforce the law and put criminals in jail. That works like a charm and will save everyone money and headaches," Rantz added. "Is there no single human in Seattle willing to identify the criminals and end the crime instead," asked an X user. "Seattle is arguably the worst city in the entire country right now, in terms of the rampant crime, widespread degradation and lawlessness that’s apparently gotten exponentially worse across the board over the last 2-3 yrs," another user chimed in. NEW YORK SOCIALIST LAWMAKER TAKES HEAT AFTER SAYING SHOPLIFTING RESULTS FROM 'BIOLOGICAL NEED'
"That used to be called the police department. What are these security guards going to do? Make arrests? Observe & report? The criminals will walk right past the security with their stolen goods. If they detain they will be sued. Cops will not arrest the shoplifters or prosecute," said one person. "Goodness! imagine how much nicer the city would be if they simply arrested and charged criminals and put them in jail? Normal people shouldn't have to shop at stores with security guards. NONE of this was necessary in most parts of Seattle 15 years ago," wrote an X user. "So we are working around the problem by increasing security instead of arresting the problem," said another person. The city will also work with the Independent Grocers Alliance to study eight neighborhoods for potential new grocery stores, according to the plan. Wilson floated the idea of exploring a "public option" for grocery stores during her 2025 mayoral campaign, including models that could involve publicly supported or city-run grocery stores. While the new initiative is separate from those proposals, critics argued the city should focus more heavily on arresting and prosecuting retail thieves rather than spending additional money helping stores deal with the damage caused by crime. The grocery security funding was first proposed by former Mayor Bruce Harrell as $1 million for grocery-store security in his 2026 budget, specifically targeting retail theft, property damage and other crimes. City leaders pushed to cut police spending amid the 2020 "Black Lives Matter" movement and the city subsequently experienced a steep decline in police staffing, with the department falling from 1,424 officers in 2019 to 1,054 in 2024 before hiring began to rebound, the Seattle Mayor's Office previously repor

"Keeping our neighborhood grocery stores safe and supported is essential to making sure every Seattleite has a reliable, affordable grocery store near them," Wilson said on social media Monday. Oh so we're dragging wives into it now? Y'all need a hobby, preferably one that isn't posting.
Social media erupts over Hasan Piker post targeting Brandon Gill's wife
Hasan Piker is facing a barrage of criticism online after targeting the wife of Rep. Brandon Gill, R-Texas, in a brief but pointed post on X over the weekend.
Piker then shot back, "your wife is indian."
RADICAL EL-SAYED ALLY DOUBLES DOWN ON ANTI-AMERICAN RHETORIC WITH STUNNING TERRORIST COMPARISON
Gill's father-in-law, right-wing filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza, was among those who responded to Piker on X: "She’s Christian, born in America and her mom is white. Care to show us a picture of your family?"
The congressman himself also responded to Piker, "My wife is an American, born in America to American citizens. She deeply loves our nation and its culture. You, on the other hand, were born to foreign invaders and want to turn America into the third world culture you were raised in, while advocating for communism at your $3 million mansion in between electrocuting your dog."
HASAN PIKER CALLS BIN LADEN A ‘SPOILED BRAT,’ LABELS 9/11 ‘BLOWBACK’ IN AXIOS INTERVIEW
Gill's colleagues also joined in piling on Piker. "Wrong. She’s a patriotic American, and you’re a terrorist (sympathizer) who hates this country and wants to destroy it. See the difference?" Rep. Riley Moore, R-W.Va., wrote online. UNIVERSITY EVENT WITH HASAN PIKER IN TEXAS DRAWS BACKLASH FROM BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE
Another commenter wrote, "i don't know why Hasan is being racist all of the sudden but okay."
Internet Accountability Project attorney Will Chamberlain said of Gill's wife, "she’s an American patriot, while you are a Turkish adversary."
Trump ally Alex Bruesewitz wrote, "You don’t get it and you never will."
Others, however, lashed out at Piker's detractors. Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill., wrote on X in response to D'Souza, "Imagine having to say 'her mom is white' for street cred[.] The self hating MAGA thing is so weird."

Federal judge ties ICE agents' hands with ruling on warrantless Southern California arrests
A federal judge with the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California issued a preliminary injunction to block the U.S.

"This ruling is one of the most important decisions to date in the community’s effort to end the federal government’s cruel and illegal practice of abducting people and separating them from their families," ACLU Foundation of Southern California senior staff attorney Mayra Joachin declared in a statement. "By requiring immigration agents to follow the law’s requirement to make escape risk determinations before they can arrest someone without a warrant, this court order should put an end to hundreds — if not more — of unlawful arrests that continue throughout Southern California. We will closely monitor compliance with this court order, and expect the federal government to abide by it," Joachin added.
